When is too late to start a few clones??

So far I only have a few seedlings going that I started in April, but I wanna pick up a few clones from the club, too if it would be worth it.
When would be 'too late' to start some clones here in Cali?

Thanks!

They're usually about 8-10" tall, already rooted in soil. They come on those plastic beer keg party cups.
