A 4 line poem to help remember...

The Day's light brings them strength to grow,
The night's dark brings them flowers...

The day's light gives them will to live,
The night's dark gives them powers!

It's the darkness, not the light, that matters. Let them sleep!

Is it to late-

He guys I'm new at this. Is it to late to take a little of the top of this plant? From what people are saying,in my area. Plants should start to flower now or a couple of weeks. I still cant tell what sex it is. Thanks for the help,I'm just hoping its a "SHE". And I can create a few more buds by trimming the top off. Or should I just leave it alone.

going to save you

I just want to make a suggestion. If I were you I would move that plant somewhere it better matches the plants around it. I mean the color of the plants. When your plant gets a foot or two taller it's really going to stick out like a sore thumb. Look at the picture now. It is almost glowing in that area and it's only 2 foot tall. Plus your bucket could use some green paint on it as well. You might try giving your plant some epsom salt that might give it a little darker green color but I can't be for sure on that. Seriously though look at how your plant is like a neon sign there and then picture it 2 feet taller and a little bushier. Do what you want but I wouldn't risk it especially since it's in a bucket and you CAN move it.

I did read the "sexing" post. Its excellent info! I cant see anything on my plants though. I think its because I've been shining a brite flashlight on them at night?????

How much Epsom salt per gallon of water? And should I give the 5 gallon bucket planter the whole 1 gallon of Epsom salt/water mix? I tested my soil a while back & the PH was a little high. Probably because I used a lot of manure. But they are also a little pale due too all the rain we've been getting! We have been flooding since May.Thanx for your advice guys.

Indoor growers give their plant an 18/6 regime (18 hrs daylight, 6 darkness) to induce vegetative growth, then when their plants are large enough they revert to a 12/12 regime to induce flowering. This causes a certain amount of confusion with outdoor growers.
As the days are getting longer, your ladies growing outdoors will be in vegetative growth. Once the solstice (21 June) is past and the days start getting significantly shorter, the girls begin to flower. I find this happens about the middle to end of July.
They DO NOT wait until natural 12/12 arrives before they start to flower - this is merely a convenient lighting ratio used by indoor growers. Natural 12/12 actually occurs at the autumnal equinox, on 21 September (same everywhere in the world) and they will be well into flowering, getting to harvesting, by that time.
I was a n00b at growing until I read this. I have it all mastered, now. I have 5 beautiful looking reggie (first time, ever) plants ah-going. Thanks man!!!!!!

FloweringSeptember

DSCF0215.JPG

DSCF0230.jpg

DSCF0248.JPGDo I read this correctly? I live in Oregon. My plants show no sign of flowers yet. If you are right, I would be ready to harvest September 15th or so? This seems very early to me. My 12 were planted in early July, smallest at 9', tallest at time about four feet. Tallest is now at 6'8" and still growing. No sign of slow down or sex. All but two were from seed, and I did not clone for sex.

I do hope you are right though, not sure I can wait till Oct-Nov, and really not sure about the theives and asshole neighbor. He's destroyed other plants because they were to close to his property. They are on other side of lot, which keeds us to the cowboy side of my life. I killed one of his chickens a year ago for tearing shit up.

I WANT TO HARVEST TOMORROW!!!

OK, thelve plants, figure six are fem. Cut the projected 500 gr/meter sq in half, 250 grams per plant seem strong??. Ok, 200x6= 1200 grams/28/16=2 3/4 lbs sound right??

I have no idea, anyone???

Re: Outdoor Flowering - 12/12 does not apply

Hey man, thanks for the info. My plants range in size from four to over seven feet. They were moved outside while remodeling happened and finally planted when I knew i was not going to be able to afford an air conditioner. They went berzerk on me!! I love it!!

So, being in Northern Oregon, in the desert, I should expect flowering to begin soon? No signs yet, and the pre-flower I do not get at all; they all look the same. I know two are female, holdovers from last grow. 11 others are Mandala No. 1 and Kalichakra. BIG leaves, some over a foot long and three inches across. I am amazed, and will be even more amazed if I pull it off w/o being ripped off. I grow legally, but you know people.

Any info on flower time and harvest projections//
HIIGEL

Re: Outdoor Flowering - 12/12 does not apply

I'm glad this is back up to the top. It only took me one early strain to figure this out for myself, but I can see how a noob would get in a panic if he/she had a late strain. Easy Higel. The plants know what time of year it is. They know what has to be done and when it has to be done by. Fall back and let them do what they do.

Re: Outdoor Flowering - 12/12 does not apply

Genetically identical 3 month and 6 month-old plants which have mature flowers have the same potency. Starting from seed, a six month old plant flowers slightly faster and fills out more than a 3 month old plant.[/quote]
Good to know i started late in the season and was wondering why they are going slow.
