1st time grower, a little advice?

whats up, so i got growing in my viens now, and i just got to grow some damn pot. since i cant grow inside as of right now cause im living back at my parents. upside: we live in the country and my dads cool with it so its prime time for grind time. i got 12 plants on the roof right now, they sprouted around 3-4 days ago. i know its about a month late, but my last try was botched by storms and shit. i dont think its gonna hurt to try, im not looking for like 1000 pounds or anything, just some bud i grew myself, and the outdoors would be a good place to start for the first time. does anyone think that the fact its been around 100 degrees where i live the past couple of days and a few of the little guys look sad. ive been watering them everyday with distilled water, but not much, mabye just 300ml for 10 of them. (2 still have plastic bags over them to keep moisture in cause they havent quite made it through yet). so is that to much or to little for the temp outside. its only bagseed from some middie-ass sativa type shit. probably grown in this type of enviroment somewhere in cali or mexico or something. so i hope the heat wave wont hurt them none. on the roof theyre in some solo cups with some holes in the bottom in regular wal-mart soil, no nutes. oh yeah, i also have one growing by my pond in the yard, and it gets all of the morning sunlight directly, and as the sun goes west its shady on and off for the rest of the day, and that mug is growin up like a champ, just as good as the best looking one on the roof. prehaps i should move the cups over to where the other one is? i dunno. sorry about no pics right now, ill hve them up in a day or so. any constructive critisim is appreciated. sorry i made the post so long, im super ripped...

On the roof? The surface can reach 130+ degrees. Get them down and in the ground. 100 degrees may be the air temp, but not the soil. You are cooking their roots.

sounds like a good idea. its only been around 70s and 80s when i had them up there to begin with. the temp just jumped to 100 the past 2 or 3 days. anyways, i moved them to a spot that gets around the same amount of sunlight as the champ by the pond. hopefully the spike in heat dosent increase the number of males...

Hey Carl!

I live in the country as well and having your plants on your roof always seems like a good idea but it isnt worth the risk. Police helicopters do not fly around my house because of where i live but drug dealers in small personal planes do which is a problem. If they see your stuff on the roof they will come back later in the year and steal them. Doesnt always happen but i still wouldnt risk it.

That being said it isnt to late yet. As for the heat i am not familiar with faranhiet but i just looked it up and i can say in my area the hotter the better. You may encounter problems if it gets very hot. Are the days humid or dry. If they have poped though the dirt you should water them until the water drains out the holes in the bottom of your container. I always water my plants when the soil is dry and crumbly which always has worked for me. The leaves will droop if there isnt enough water.

hope that helps.

best of luck

thanks alot melt. yeah, i live in NC so it is humid as hell here on top of the heat. i figured heat was good too, and lots of sun(like why i had them on the roof). it looks like more arent going to make it. it seems im down to 2 nice looking sprouts now. i think ill trash the rest and get some more started. i think i still have some more time. i will try to post the pics this afternoon when i get off of work.

Water once every few days. It promotes healthy root growth and all of the oils and resins that make your bud better.

Hey Carl!

If you are living in NC it is way to humid to have bags over your sprouts if your keeping them outside. This may be the reason why some are not turning out. They are probably to moist and are dampening off or the roots are dieing. The moisture is good for plants when there is not humidity being supplied by natural sources (ie NY humidity). So try that and if it does not work on your new ones or your older ones let me know.

- Best of luck!

Yeah. I've found that in humid environments (such as mine) this method can fuck your shit up.
