Am I being totally stupid??

I am an average stay at home mom who lives in an upper class neighborhood. I like to smoke, but don't really have good connections. I stuck some of my seeds from my last batch of bud in an empty flower pot on my kitchen window sill.

The plants took off and now I have 6 nice looking plants about 10 inches high. I since moved them outside.

I live in Alabama and I am concerned about the mandatory prison time for any cultivation charge.

I really should rip them out, but don't want to. I can't help but think no one in my neighborhood is going to peek over my fence or even notice my plants.

Dumb dumb and I should rip them out, right?

it depends on how big your yard is, whether the neighbors could recognize what a weed plant look likes, and if your yard is small the plant will smell when it flowers.

if you have a garden stick them in there and match them up with tomato plants. it will be hard to notice from far away. the biggest tool you should use is your common sense. if your curious as to wether it is very visible, go look at from a distance but also try to take into consideration the other people probably wont be looking for it. you can do methods like topping and LST to keep the plant growing low and bushy reducing the chances it is seen by the snoopers. good luck, mom

I thought about putting them in my vegetable garden, but it's in the corner of my yard next to two of my neighbors fences. I was concerned about smell when flowering. My neighbors are never outside anyways so I doubt they would smell anything.

You can't see into my yard at all unless you climb the fence.

I need to make up my mind. LOL

if people cant see into the yard its no problem but they grow to be like 4 to 5 feet maybe so take that into account. otherwise you can grow them along the ground you can bend the stems with training(look up growing techniques). I would definately surround them with other plants but not so much that it blocks light. the smell won't matter if they can't see them

Thanks for your replies. I think I will go ahead and stick them in the garden and try the technique where you bend them. It looks easy enough.

I am just having trouble committing to this for several months. Even though I know no one is going to be looking for pot in my yard, it makes me very nervous having them out there.

Why not get yourself an indoor grow cab going and keep it in a closet or somewhere hidden with a lock on it? Cut clippings for your plants outdoors, sex the clippings and find out which are female. Kill the males, bring 2-3 females inside. You won't have to worry about them being seen or getting caught if their inside. You will also be able to harvest MJ year round. Just a thought, you can learn everything you need to know right here at GC regarding indoor growing. Best of luck to you with whatever you decide to do.

Edit: Oh and no you aren't being "totally stupid" at all.. laws against Cannabis are "totally stupid".

I agree the laws are stupid, but I don't want to risk too much such to smoke some bud.

I have thought about bringing them back inside. I have a couple options on where to keep them. I have several large closets and a spare room as well.

I am just having trouble making up my mind period. lol

My kids are little so that doesn't concern me much.

I actually thought about sticking them in my master bathroom. It gets a ton of light, and I figured I could just cover the windows when I want to start flowering.

Oh another reason I thought about bringing them inside is all the rain we get in Alabama. The pots they're in have good drainage but with all the rain the dirt is soaked.

I would say doing an indoor grow would probably be your best idea if you are that concerned about outdoor growing.

Don't worry though, I would be terribly paranoid about the situation aswell, but honestly do you think your neighbors would snitch on you? If they are never outside and you have to climb a fence to see into your yard you should be pretty safe. I really wish you the best of luck with all of this. Hopefully one day responsible adults like yourself will be able to enjoy the herb legally.

I have learned a TON on this site. I was planing on moving them inside until I saw the 2 I planted from seeds outside recently. They are so healthy looking compared to the 4 I started indoors. Just breaks my heart LOL.

Heres what you need to do. Go to your local flower shop and purchase small pepper plants. Grow them around your marijuana plants. No one will suspect a thing. (make sure you buy a good variety of papper plants) Youll spend like 10 bucks tops.

bending them and training them along the ground is probably your best bet but remember they still need to get light. whether you keep them in your house or outside make sure they get 4-6 hours of direct sunlight a day. keeping them outside will give you a better yield too
