My Babys On Steroids!

in the first and second week of my plant growing i gave it water with N-P-K nutrients in it. is this a bad thing? i only gave it to it like 4 times, but i grounded a whole nutrient stick up, and put all the powder in a water bottle. my babys 3 weeks old now, should i stop giving it nutrients for a week or 2 ?

You shouldn't give it to your plant until it's about 3-4 weeks old. Stop for now. A good indication that you're giving them too much is yellowing leaf tips.

The rule of thumb is usually 2 weeks old. With organics though, you can start giving them a diluted solution by the end of the first week. If you arent giving your plants any nutes till they are 3 or 4 weeks old, you are robbing them of alot of growth.

As long as your leaf tips arent yellowing continue to do what you are doing. Id get some better nutes if possible though.

But I suppose all that depends on the type of soil being used. Most soils contain enough nutrients (this is all variable on plant pot sizes) to last a plant 3- 4 weeks, sometimes longer.

I believe that it's better to under feed as then you can always give more. But overnuteing a plant can lead to a lot more difficult problems which usually affects yeild later on with nutrient lock out, pH imbalance/fluctuation and so on.

thanks for the info guys. my babys leaf tips arent yellowing so i guess i was doing ok with that. i have a pretty big pot, with potting soil and those white things. does anybody have a website that gives great info about nutrients, and how much you need to give it each week of a plants life, and the nutrient/water balance?

That will depend on the nutrients you're using.

Bio Bizz have a nutrient shedule calendar if you're using their products.

I look at what it says on the back of the bottle and half it. If I know the plant is able to sustain the amount of nutrients I've given it, then I may think about giving it more if it's using it.

Nuteburn/overnuteing can wreck a plant.

My philosophy is more is less when giving nutes. Remember, you can always give more if a little is not enough.
