thanks for the info guys. my babys leaf tips arent yellowing so i guess i was doing ok with that. i have a pretty big pot, with potting soil and those white things. does anybody have a website that gives great info about nutrients, and how much you need to give it each week of a plants life, and the nutrient/water balance?

That will depend on the nutrients you're using.
Bio Bizz have a nutrient shedule calendar if you're using their products. I look at what it says on the back of the bottle and half it. If I know the plant is able to sustain the amount of nutrients I've given it, then I may think about giving it more if it's using it. Nuteburn/overnuteing can wreck a plant. My philosophy is more is less when giving nutes. Remember, you can always give more if a little is not enough.
