thanks for the praise guys. most of these are around 2.5 to 3 feet now...getting bigger every day. i need to flower early, so i am going to start with the bloom booster ferts (find it at my local nursery). also, i have been doing some readings on molasses and i have decided to start using it. i am going to the plot this saturday so i will have some nice pics when i get back.

dahurt83, it is a safari mix seed from mandala. most of their genetics are mixes of sativa and indica and i am assuming this one is leaning towards sativa. i am also growing early misty which is mainly indica, so i am going to get a great mix of highs!

agreed, look at the soil in my pictures...dry as a bone and about 90% clay. cant even dig holes for the pots it is so rock hard

I threw a couple plants in soil like similar to what you described just to see the effects of poor soil and within a week I could tell the difference. The plants are still alive but the leaf color got lighter and lighter and is now a yellow-green. Weed plants are fighters but when in great soil you get great results. Who wants to settle for sickly plants when you can grow in pots like you are and the plants thrive?

I can't wait to see sum sticky buds start to develop on those beauties.

That makes two of us that cant wait

Do you know, by chance, how much the plants grow when they start to flower. This is my first grow and i dont really know how big they will get by harvest time. It seems to me if they stop growing right now (showing preflowers), they will only be 3 feet tall...

The amount of additional growth depends on the strain but once budding begins there is a period of time where they "stretch" before forming the final budsites and packing on the weight. This stretch is healthy and all marijuanna plants do it, some way more then others. I've had plants tretch between 6 inches and 14 inches. Your plants should get to a pretty good height. Just remember its not all in the height, your plants are nice and healthy so you should have some very vigorous bud formation.

another question for ya: ive found 2 of my 5 to be male preflowers and 1 confirmed female. should i chop the males now and not even bother with trying to make hash, or should i let them grow a little and right before they grow real balls chop them and make hash? is 2 male plants enough?

thanks for your help...i didnt think these questions were worth making a new thread

You could chop now but if you have plenty of space to grow, do what brado said and throw them somewhere plenty far enough from your girl(s) and let them mature some more. When I get males indoor, I don't allow them to develop enough to make hash from because I want my setup to stay free of pollen and it is not worth the risk having them right next to my girls. If you let thm grow, just be sure your girl is plenty far enough away cuz the lat thing you want is some bee/butterfly dancin in the pollen and makin a first class delivery on your beautiful female buds.

update

i headed to the site again, and theyre looking great. They love the new fertilizer and molasses that I gave them last time. I decided to also boost the girls, and...guys with some fish fertilizer. Since i dont really care if the males will die, i decided to do a little experiment to gain some knowledge. I put 3 caps of fish fertilizer in the water of the two males that i have confirmed, and put 1.5 in the caps of the females. i want to come back next time and see if there is a difference, or if the males have been overferted. Anyways, thanks for reading...here are the pics:

First pic: this one is the oldest/biggest female in her new location. She has definitely perked up from last watering:

Girl from the top:

Possible male getting some sun:

Crazy salamander under the bucket:

Down low shot:

Practicing supercropping on biggest male:

that big ole female looks fiercesome. The fish fert should boost them nicely and it should be fun seeing the difference between 1.5 and 3 capfuls of ferts.

I finally got my grow goin man so you should check it out sometime. The pics aren't great but that my bad not the plants hahaha.
