just great, I should have waited till next weekend. Frost warning tonight and there is nothing i can do about it.
The official warning is: Temperatures are expected to drop to between zero and minus 3 by daybreak giving widespread frost. My crop is by water, so i'm crossing my fingers that that will save them. </pre> |

Well, it did frost, my dad said that the roof of the car had a layer on it in the morning around 5 when he went for work.
Today it was up in the 20's (70's F), so that'll be the last frost. If the frost did hit them. at least one of the plants had to survive

Well i checked in on the plants today (a week later), and they look like shit.
It looks like the frost fucked them pretty good, all of the fan leaves were done. But I managed to find three of the plants that had new growth along the stem, so it looks like they might make a come back. I guess all I can do now is check them next week and hopefully they're still going. |

**Week update***
Well I guess I was a little bit optimistic when I said that three survived; the third plant was the largest plant, and i thought it might make it, but it was dried write to almost nothing this week. So that means that two survived. My hope is that they are both female, and in my opinion they probably are, because they were two of the slower growers at the beginning, and males are often the fastest growing plants. Anyways, these two are now 2 or three internode 'seedlings' again. One of them has quite a bit of dead plant material on it, but the dead stuff is already completely dried up and shriveled so there wasn't anything to worry about. Anyways, I'll get a camera soon, but after a few weeks they've settled into the soil, and the one is about quite a bit stretched but strong. And the other is only a foot tall. Both are doing quite well, just pretty naturally (although I did add a bit of ferts one day, but it rained the next day; so I dunno how much that did).
Anyways I plan on getting a camera this weekend, but I don't know if I will be out there for another two weeks at least. Right now I still couldn't see the sex of the plants. But they haven't really started filling out yet. July 22nd is when the days are short enough around here, so I hope they get a bit more growth in the next 18 days because it's july 4. Although I guess so far their small size has been their best camouflage. So I'm not even worried about a small harvest; Although I wouldn't mind being able to take a clone. |

Well here's the pics.
They've started to flower now, and they are both females. I was actually kind of hoping for a male and a female so that I could get more seeds; this years harvest isn't going to be that great quantity wise, but quality wise it should be grade AAA; and now that I know that the soil is good, and I don't have to water next year I'll plant a few more in the area and hopefully pull a couple lb or so. Next year I may try planting a little later though. People have told me that they get the best results in this area if they veg 2 - 3 months then throw the plants into flower for 2 - 3 weeks before taking them outside around June 20th. So that's what I'll try next year. |
