i would say go a little deeper in because that was right on the edge of a clearing. Just think if you can find it, others can as well. Ps-nice cr250! but i probably would ride that to go check on the plants unless the location is super remote. Thhose bikes are decently loud

Yea, I would say deeper as well, and a pre existing cleared area always makes me wonder why is it already cleared?

Little background...my friend and I ride our bikes back there all the time so people are fairly used to the noise. I planted the seeds today and peed all over the place to keep away animals. The area was supposed to be a neighborhood but due to all the foreclosed houses in my area the developers pulled out and left it "as is" they don't plan on doing anything back there until housing goes back up. It's rare to find someone walking back in that area. Guess ill have to wait til my lil guys sprout up to get my hopes up.

Yes but not ever in that area. This area if you look at when there's like 5 seconds left that is a house. My neighbor rides his four wheeler and go cart around back there but never where I planted at....I can think of another spot to grow in but its a good 2miles away on a dirtbike trail. But going 4miles everyday for 2-5 plants? I don't think it would be worth the yield especially since im planting so late in the season.

Do you happen to live in the northeast? Well really its the entire country this May is cold on average. I think you can still get a decent yield in if you already started plants or even from seeds. This summer is starting off slow and is gonna reach into the winter months. Blame global warming.

Has it been much colder than average there? Yesterday here in PA i was freezing my ass of and has generally been colder than average for this late in the year. My garden is growing very slow due to cold weather making me think those who planted after the last frost here really wouldn't have much of an advantage over those planting now. That spot could handle alot more than 5 plants btw. I think the penalties in most states are the same 1-10 plants so go big. And be sure to dig out a shallow pit around each plant to allow the water to collect. Seems obvious but alot of people growing here dont do it. gl

Yeah way colder than usual. Fluxuates a lot. How many plants do you have as of now? "go big" haha. Seems so petty growing a stupid plant. If I seen police near it I would just ride past on my bike.

Now when you say dig out a pit, do you mean build a moat kinda thing?

Dont have any plants. I was talking about my tomatoes and opium poppy field lol. I still live with my parents and there are no good outdoor places to grow around here. And I meant digging a shallow concave hole around each plant. But if you want to dig a moat they will get even more water i guess lol.

I've been wanting to grow some tomatoes. Hey shoot me a PM with some does and donts with tomatoes. There's nothing better than fresh home grown tomatoes.
