If you're having Deer problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems..

I have some seedlings and I was wondering....

1. How tall/big/how many weeks since germination is healthy to plant outside?

2. There are lots of deer in my area, it seems like they might eat my plants. Is there any way around this?

I am not concerned with yield. I am basically just planting them for the hell of it. Just hoping to spread the plant around.

I had some growing outside and the deer ate them more then once, so most likely..if the deer spot new veggies they'll eat them. But i heard if you hang up dirty clothes near your plants, the deer wont come near them because of the human scent, moth balls and human hair works too.

I usually camp out near my plot, in camo with nothing but a bowie knife. I sit in trees, and when a deer comes by, I drop out its back and cut its throat. Then I hang the dead carcas near my plot, as a warning to other deer. BUT. If this isn't your style I'd hang fishing line up around the perimeter of your plants, 1 line at 18 inches one at 36 inches. should keep em out.

Smile Deer Problems? No problem!

You can keep the deer from eating your plants by spraying them with BOBBEX up until the buds start to form. BOBBEX has no chemicalks in it - Mostly eggs cayenne pepper and garlic, with an adhesive so it doesn't wash off in the rain. Once they are budding you will have to watch them, but you can slack off the first two months by using BOBBEX. It works!

Check it on youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e19efqkMgLg

piss around every time you visit your plot also if you can plant close to simmilar vegitation this will be your best defense, if there is a mile of dirt and shitty vegiation and 1 healthy plant and its your plant animals will eat it, safety in numbers my friend. Don't use soap it attracts animals. If you specificaly wanna keep deer away wrap a line or 2 of fishing line around some trees around your plants this will help keep deer away.

After some of my plants were eaten by deer I decided to wrap fishing line around the trees to my plot. Worked for a week and then one day I walked back and the fishing line was ripped down. I tied it really good but somehow the deer walked right through it but to my surprise they haven't touched my plants since... So I figure deer won't be much of a problem once your plants reach a certain height.
