I'm thinking about tying my plant down every foot or so once I transplant it to keep the height down. Anyone got pics of different ways it can be done or suggestions on how to construct a tie down system that will keep the plants off of the ground by about 6-8 inches and not look obvious?

construct a wire frame, or use one of the ones you can buy at the store for tomatos. just stick it in the ground and tie the plant to it.

This is what i do and its the easiest

so my plants about 3 months old (gettin there) and i jus use a clothes hanger cut it in have shoved half of it in the ground and its worked amazing

Wire frames seem like too much effort for me. I might try and do it next year, just to experiment with results.

What I do is get some twine and a few sturdy sticks. Drive those puppies into the ground around your plant at about a 45 degree angle away from the plants (without breaking them). Then tie down your main branches and spread out the growth. Very easy actually, and a very cheap way to double or triple your yield.

try snapping a few cloths hangers into a few pieces and bend them like stapels, then use those to hold the plant down.
