Plants keep getting killed...
Okay, so ive planted a total of about 16 plants over the course of the last 4 weeks... and I have two left. I am pretty sure its the storms and heavy rains TN's been getting, but Im not 100% positive. I'm not sure if it matters but, I looked around my plants and there seemed to be a good deal of roley poleys in my soil and fire ants in the vicinity of my plants. The plants keep dying when they're about 1 week - 1.5 weeks old. I actually dug around in a few of the dead plants' soils and I find the roots of the plant, but no top half (the part that sticks above ground with the leaves) I havent seen my plants in 4 days, so i will be going back today and i will have news if I have any plants left. So... I ask you, What is happening to my plants and how can I prevent it? Or is it just one of the setbacks of outdoor?

I have found some of the dead roots... They dont appear to have any type of root rot or anything like that. But one day i went to my plot and two plants were pressed into the soil however i was able to stand them back up. They kind of leaned a little. Thing is that only happened to two of the 15 or so that have died

yep... went back today... all gone. I'm sure it is the storms now. How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

It might not be weather thats killing your plants
It could very easily be animals like rabbits and deer I know I had 6 out of my 10 outdoor plants eaten by rabbits After putting deer and rabbit repellent on my remaining 4, they are still alive |

You guys could try growing them inside for a little, and ease them outside (harden them off). If you start them off in a good environment and toughen them up gradually so that they can live outside, you'll probably end up much more satisfied with your crop.

That's why I NEVER grow outside. Most everyone I know who grows outside get their stash either raided by thieves, eaten by deer, infested by bugs or destroyed by the weather. NOT WORTH IT.

most everyone you know doesn't know what they're doing then it sounds like, you just need to start some seeds indoors and make a fence
