i cant buy fert....i have about 49 plants growing(spaced out dont worry) off my property and they are in early veg i think.....about 6 inches high with i think 3 internodes...maybe 2....but anyways.....my soil is very clay with poor drainage but they are surviving so far....its in a grass land so i no it should have alright organic compost in it from all teh graas dying since forever....anyways...my dad has bought 2 5ib bags of 16-4-8 lawn fert.....can i steal some of this and use it for veg...high nitrogen value.....and how much should i use...its granular and i dont think time release....also how often should i fert and how tall should my plants be before i start

thats too much nitro. 10-10-10- for veg, and 10-20-10 for flowering works fine for me

what if i use a lil bit haha.....also if i dont even fert at all how much will that effect my harvest

i just got some 8-14-9 fertalizer today, i checked menards and bachmans, and that was the closeset to 10-10-10 i could find before it started to rain and i was on my motorcycle so i just got that kind because it's better than the 10-54-10 i've been useing vry watered down. i'd add a little bit of that fertalizer, like 1/5 strength it can't hurt right?

In a pinch, it will work. All the way through if you were really desperate. Just take the dosage and cut it in half, or maybe even in third for the first time, then watch what happens. If it burns or curls the leaves cut the dosage smaller, if it responds well, up the ammount a little until you find the magic number. I know a guy that grows with Miracle Grow...by choice, straingly enough!! His stuff gets pretty big. It's pretty shabby weed, but it will burn, and get ya high!

16-4-8 isnt too much N, especially because you dont know the ratio of WSN (water soluable Nitrogen) to WIN (water insoluable Nitrogen). One of the brands I use is Max-Sea, their all purpose, or veggging formula is 16-16-16, but only 4% of the N is WSN, so the immediate release is more like 4-16-16, the other 12% comes out slowly.

Good luck, this early in the year, you should have a little time on your hands. You should figure out a way to get your hands on some good flowering nutes, so when the time comes, you can give it something a little better.
