Roots + 8" Bucket

So I have my plants outside in an 8" bucket and I want to leave them in there to grow, i dont want to transplant them in the ground because my neighbors walk back in the woods.. does it matter if the roots come out on the bottom of the bucket and just chill on the ground? My friends said the buckets are to tiny for the plants and should be transplanted but there only like 6 inches tall..

well the smart thing to do would be to find a bigger bucket and transplant them, like a 5 gallon one is good. If you cant do that then just get a different spot and put them right in the ground.
