rabbits and chicken wire

i had a chicken wire fence around all my plants and one started to outgrow the fence but its around 2 months old now so i was wondering when rabbits generally stop eating the plants, because i heard that they only eat them when there young.

thanks

So basically you answered your own question there right at the very end and you wanted to be backed by a kind member like me.

Generally rabbits will only eat the plants when they are a sproutling, your big plant should not be touched by rabbits anymore, but keep in mind where there are rabbits there are most likely deer so take appropriate measure so that deers do not attribute to a garden catastrophe.

I would quickly like to add that I had a miserable deer/rabbit attack earlier this season. It reduced 7 females to 4. It was heartbreaking. DO NOT allow the same to happen to you. I have a fence around my entire plot. I have some store bought deer deterant, and I also made my own using chili powder, garlic powder and some other similiar herbs. I have not seen foot prints since, and certainly no more missing plants.

the spot were my plants are is pretty hard to get to (jump over a fence, stream, through alot of brush) so deer arent a problem, but a rabbit already basically ate a whole plant. im thinking about just making a bigger fence to be safe.
