WW and AK47 Outdoors?

I heard that White Widow and AK-47 don't do well outdoors. Guess I'm gonna find out...

In the original post of this thread, you have your "babies" in solo cups. Did you have them sprouting in those solo cups while indoors or outdoors? I am interested, because I have some fem. Dutch Passion #1 sprouting inside right now, and I was wondering if that height would be proper start them off in ground outdoors.

You say your plants get large every year, so I trust your methods, I just wanted to be sure. I am in CT.

It's been quite a past 24 hours... 3 inches of rain, and thunderstorms. So I covered them in 2 ply plastic. Before I put the stakes in I used the victorian lantern cloche lid, heavy as shit but cant use with the stakes. It's been a godsend to keep the little ones safe. Note the fishing line to keep pests out. Anyway there's gypsy moths around this time of year and one of the gypsy moth caterpillars munched on some baby pot leaves. I think I caught it in time and the seedling should make it. I went straight to get aluminum tape cause caterpillars are unable to cross it. Now the whole she-bang has aluminum tape around it. Of the eight there are 2 bagseed, 3 WW feminized and 3 serious AK. Yes I germed them outdoors right in those cups with a hole poked in the bottom. I used promix seed starter. I also used the victorian lantern cloche to keep slugs and varmints out and put them in semi sun at 75-80 in the days and a few of the nights down to 40...they all sprouted one week later. Theyre now in a mix of promix seed starter, mixed with a little miracle grow potting soil, and then generously fortified with worm castiings.

Yep hard to believe those little shoots get to be honkin monsters. I a few 8-footers is all an Old Pork needs. Here you can see some foil tape I added to keep the caterpillars out and a little more miracle grow to cover the garden leaves.

They're coming along... More rain for the next couple of days. Definitely have not had to water. The foil tape is doing a great job keeping the gypsy moth caterpillars off. I am gonna wait till maybe June till they go in the ground...May has been too rainy and I don't wanna drown em. This year I may put one or two in 10 gallon pots.

Thanks BB. The two in the back right are bagseed. The ones up front are the Serious AK47 and the also the Greenhouse Seed Co Fem White Widow. They are growing much faster and better than the bagseed. It pays to buy good genetics.

Yesterday I noticed some of the new leaves on two plants were deformed, all curly. So I looked closer and noticed little green winged bugs on the stem just under the new leaves...a goddamn aphid attack. So off to the garden store for a product called Concern...an all purpose organic pyrethrum-based insecticide. It seems to have done the trick...no more aphids. I think I got it in time but it will take a few days for these two to bounce back.

The first two months is like baby sitting
