MJBoys 1st grow - journal with Pics

ok so the seedlings i have planted were germinated on April 12th , 2008. so far i have 6 plants growing and 3 seeds still germinating. I'm really new to all of this and just picked this up as a hobby. I have passed the hobby stage and am going full out on this. So ill take any criticism and /or suggestions.

3 of the plants (seedlings) are 2 weeks old so far and look a bit small to me. what do you think?



the 3 bigger ones were given to me by my girls mom and claim to be 8 weeks old (can anyone tell??) They seem to be a little sick and it might be from the move from the smaller pots.



3 more seeds are being germinated ( 2 being good bag weed and 1 being hindu kush)




the 2 seedlings on the far right that have sprouted are hindu kush and i'm hoping are females.

now i dont remember what type of soil i bought from the hardware store so i cant even post it. Im a little worried as to the yellow leaves the older ones have. anyone know why they have that? PH balance?


i don't have all the bells and whistles yet so i'm just doing this bare handed basically. I don't have a PH meter or anything else you need to measure what the plants need. Im going to be getting that stuff this week.


questions i have:

are my plants to close to each other?

do i need to move em and if so when?

what would you do different?

do i need plant food or fertilizer yet?

heres my germinator. i just started using it last week. I just checked my seeds again and 1 of the bag weed seeds are sprouting.

You need to get them in seperate containers. It may be a tad late on the bigger ones, but the seedlings you can still get into cups or small pots. Don't grow multiple MJ plants in a single container.

You can start adding fertilizer around 3-4 weeks if you're in a rush, but be sure to use a lower dosage. Try 1/4 strength or so and see how they respond.

There is plenty of info all over this site and on the web to point you in the right direction, so if you want to move past the "hobby" stage I suggest you read and read and read.

of course there is a chance i could be wrong, but that big one kinda looks like a male. or its going to be a male. you should try doing some indoor flowering on them early or you could wait a little longer and clone it and flower the clone.

but it kidna looks like its going to be a dude. lets cross our fingers and hope it has a vagina

this 1st grow was sort of a test run. im ordering my seeds and getting my set up ready next 2 weeks.

i hope they last that long but a lot of people have said they arent looking so good .
