Soil plotting and soil ammendments???
Okay.....I finally "broke ground" on one of the locations I plan to grow Outdoors....It is in a Semi Forest area..has pretty decent undergrowth......should be great considering the spot and hours of sunlight I have estimated considering canopy cover........
WHAT A BACK BREAKING JOB THIS WAS......I had read up on this part of Outdoor growing in the ground and the advice was right on. I thought I could dig to China and have Awesome Nutrient filled soil and Mulch, but 2 feet down I hit some hard clay....It essentially turned into some sort of Excavation project......LOL....
My PLan was to place 6 Plants in this section (measuring 5 long....3 feet wide)....I got down pretty deep and ammended about 70% of the ground with nutrient filled Pre-mixed soil and Polymers......Yet It was impossible to totally de-weed and unroot the site....overall I feel god because I have a big plat with great Soil mixed with some topsoil....
YET....LIKE I SAID....FROM BARK TO PINE CONES AND WEEDS....THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD ERRADICATE ALL THE NATURAL GROWTH AT THAT SITE.....
Does anyone see a Problem with that......I have some dead weeds, wood etc...mixed with my Soil and I dug deep enough that I need another huge bacg of Soil to make the land appear even and plained...BUT DAMN....There was no way I could simply just did a Big hole that was empty and fill it...it has other compost in it.......
It will sit and "Marinate" for about 1 month before I plant the seasoned plants....But am I risking having created a breeding ground for weeds qand unwanted plants....or will these semi exposed roots and dead grass play in my favor....????
