LST outdoors

Been doing lots of research lately and read DierWolf's LST article in Absolute Beginners. I want to do my first grow soon and would only be able to grow outdoors and want to minimize potential risk from sighting. Please excuse my noobness, but can you do LST outdoors in a large pot or even in the ground itself? Thanks.

Yeah, but it's not very efficient, It is gonna look suspicious when some wild plant is tied down. Some people still do tho. If you want to though, have a ball, I wish you the best.

Except for my first plant last year, I have been training all of my plants to help disguise that typical christmas tree shape. In 5 gal buckets and pots, I drill holes around the lip of the container and use straightened paper clips (the big ones) and stretched out elastic ponytail holders (scuncii thingies) to bend the branches down and around. Instead of a 6+ foot tree, I have lovely 3 foot shrubberies that yield a couple of oz. each.

I think I'll just plant them in the ground and hope for the best. Without knowing how many females there are it would be a colossal waste of time to LST them all. Plus it would look instantly suspicious if someone were to stumble across a bunch of tied down plants like GigZ-16 said as opposed to some green plants growing amongst other trees.
