Is this plan any good??

Hi everybody.

I am planning on starting up my first grow this spring, and I will be planting around April 20th. (Is this a good day?). I am going to sprout them outside, right out of the ground, without vegging them first. I should germinate the seeds first, right? What would happen if I just put the seeds in the ground without popping them first?

How long into a plant's growth does it take to detect a male?

What should I expect or look out for?

By the way- I am in Pennsylvania.

It should be an alright date, however I havnt been following east coast weather.

Yes, it is recommended you germinate first so that you dont expect any to grow that wont.
What would happen if you put them in the soil first? Some will sprout some wont, thats how it happens in nature. You just wont know which are duds and which arent.
