i didnt expect answers but rather than keeping it to myself and the 3rd world i figure some grower would find it useful
i've heard people making these for 30ft high inclines, i grow similar to this height and next to a watersource, boy would it cut down effort during the dry seasons. and trust me poeple im not talking 5 or 10 plants, i wouldnt bother if that were the case, i'll also have a grow site using the siphoning method, then gravity takes over instead of humanpower.. but putting in a few hours to build a pump would make up for the 10 or more hours hiking 18 litre jugs during the season

i found yet another science project in youtube called pedal pump, easy to duplicate so ill give it a try, does any1 know where to find or buy a piston? maybe it's up to looking in my junkyard

old hand water pumps use leather around the end of the 'piston' in order to create a seal. However, if you let the leather dry out, then your seal is wrecked. Sometimes it can be fixed with pouring water on it, but other times it needs replacing.

Other than that, it shouldn't be to hard to build. Maybe you can actually find an old hand pump somewhere, and just convert it for your needs.
