for a three way meter(pH, moister, and light[which aint that great]), Fox Farm Ocean Forest, and Peace Of Mind All Purpose. the guy tried to play it off like he wasnt a stoner which i gotta kick out of. but he also said "you might not wanna put your seeds directly in the soil, it'll burn them up. might wanna transplant them from some different soil into that." so yeah, is he right? cause iv never messed with this stuff, iv always use some stuff from Lowes.

Now that is one hell of an endorsement. I can't speak to the value of the meter you mentioned, cause I don't use any, but I'd be concerned with any product that the sales clerk disclaims by warning you it could burn your seedling.

Now when I start seeds I usually just use finely sieved peatmoss until they have their first couple of true leaves but that is because I have found potting mix to be a little too heavy for germinating, but I have used potting soil in a pinch...I just run it through my trusty strainer to make the texture finer.

well the only reason he said that he prolly cause hes used it before idk but it is high in alkaline. but iv figured out how to even it out. what do you think is a pretty good pH level?

Ive been seeing 6.5-7.
Every number it goes up the acidity is ten fold.

Just to clarify...as the parts of Hydrogen go up, the Alkalinity rises. 7.0 is neutral, lower pH is acidic higher pH is alkaline.

Each whole number, either way, indicates tenfold increases in the acidity/alkalinity.

thats helpful. and i have a problem.....its gonna get down to 33 degrees tonight, mostly cloudy. i was just gonna move them in my house. can i get some advice/criticism?, thanks

don't give out info if you don't know what you're talking about, as H+(hydrogen) goes up the ph # goes down between 1 and 7 and the solution becomes more acidic, as OH(hydroxide) goes up, the ph # goes up between 7 and 14

I stand corrected...always had a problem w/ negative numbers.
