Wetlands

What's up GC? Getting ready for another season, I've got the same fem seeds that I've been growing with for the past four years or so, plus some fem Early Skunks. Just some background, I always like sticking to pots for ease of movement when necessary, been doing it for years, gonna stick to it for my skunks. But I've got a big wetlands in the woods out back and figured I would toss a plant back there for shits and giggles, see if I can grow a monster. I THINK I've heard some good things about growing in wetlands, anyone with experience? The only thing I think I have to worry about are the deer.

Thoughts?

wetlands are good because the soil is really fertile you have to make sure they still receive a lot of sun light and that the water that they might be around isn't contaminated if its fresh it will be better for your plants.

That's what I thought, the sunlight MAY be an issue. What about the fact that where I am everyone is on septic systems? One the one hand, that's good ferts, however, who knows what the hell people are flushing.

in many places, human waste is used as fertilizer

furthermore, the septic systems shouldnt be leaking into the surrounding areas, right?

Well it goes through the leaching fields to clean out, but who knows how often these people have them pumped or who's septic is failing without them knowing.......although, I'm fairly certain if your septic system was failing you should damn well know about it.

Watering shouldn't be an issue, again, I think my two issues would be sunlight and deer. All these wetlands are protected so even knocking down a tree would probably get you in more trouble then planting there.

Hey it's worth a shot, I'll get her going in a pot as usual and when the leaves come in, scout it out and see if there's a sunny patch.

I wouldn't worry about septic remains, your prob fine. Cup your hands in the water to make sure it's clean, don't use the water if it's stagnant. Make sure it's flowing water. Also, I wouldn't grow it in the wetlands because it could flood, I'd plot my shit nearby.

The good thing about wetlands is that they retain water just under the surface so well. So I figured I'd plant one, if sunny enough, far enough from when it ponds so that it won't get flooded, but in the moist soil, shouldn't have to water it all season. Those things are like sponges they're great. AND protected, and wet, so no one ever goes near them.
