Compost Question

hey guys i have a quick question about compost. I have a compost pile in my backyard that has 10+years worth of leaves/grass/pumpkins etc. This is not so decomposted to where its like soil but i was wondering how should i mix the compost with soil? If that makes sense. If i need to clarify tell me. Thanks

You should turn your compost pile regularly. I'll bet if you turned it over, you will find rich, black, worm-filled soil at the bottom of your compost heap that is like black gold for your garden.

Do you live where you can do an outdoor grow in your backyard? That would be nice with all that compost.

Did you find what you were looking for?

As an afterthought; there may be large particles that have not yet decomposed. When I prepare a new bed and add my compost, I toss the compost through a sieve that I rigged up out of 2X4's and hardware cloth...kinda like those things the archaeologists use when looking for artifacts. It's just a rectangle of 2X4 nailed together and some 1/4 inch mesh hardware cloth attached with wire staples. I lean it against the fence and just toss my shovel fulls of compost on it. The big stuff is separated from the good stuff.
