It probably depends on what part of California you live in. SoCal can probably start in March(I start March 13), but if you are in NorCal, its colder for a longer period of time so maybe late April, early May.

I am about mid cali but considered northern i guess. But i will be starting around late march early april thats usually the best. Unless the winter drags on longer than normal. Which i hate..... been too much rain lately im not use to it california always has the best weather
