Growing in freezing conditions..

I'm in a jam and a need to move 2 very beautiful mother plants outside into an un-heated detached garage for a few weeks until I move out. The garage gets freezing cold during the day and night but I will have the plants in a small cabinet about 2.5' wide, 3' high, and 1.5' deep with a 50W HPS on 24/7. Is there anything I can do to save the plants because I think it will be too cold to survive even with the heat of the HPS. I'm going to try anyways. Any suggestions?

go to the petstore and get a heat lamp from the reptile section. if my heat lamp can keep my snakes temperature up to 80 with the room window open in 20 degree weather, i think it will keep your plant warm enough. that's the best idea i can think of.

go get a whole lot of heating pads and duct tape them to the outside of the grow cabinet. Turn on. maybe.

pet stores sell those heat "rocks" for lizards to lay on. he could stick those in the bottom of the box to give of some heat

That would be a good idea, but extremely dangerous because ALL heat rocks are unpredictable, and almost 100% of them overheat, getting to over 100 degrees. I don't really know what temperature is optimal but they are too unpredictable. Heat tape, heat pads, and heat lamps are pretty safe.

One of my close friends knew someone who's snake died because it was on the heat rock for too long.
