what size pots?

basically, im planning on having 12 pots, ( that way ill for sure have about 3-5 nice females left at the end) but i was thinking is it a good idea to do two seeds to a pot, then pluck the males and kinda "push" (or move, w/e) the other plant to the middle? or just stick to one seed to a pot? and also, if i dont care about getting them superly massive huge, whats a good cost-effective size pot to use for outdoor growing? remember theres going to be 12 of them, in a clearing about 50 yards from my house.

THANKS

KEEP

I'd stick to one seed per pot. especially if you get two females in one pot, now they're only going to have half the root space.

As for size? last year (1st grow) I just went straight in the ground (3'x3'x3' filled with 75% my soil, 25% shit i dug up) and those babies were 6ft by end of august...

...then they got ripped >=(

If you cant go in the ground, I've heard you should have 1 gal of pot size for every foot of your tree.

As for more small plants, thats up to you. Smaller pots means watering more often, but it also means that more O2 is gonna get to those roots when the soil starts to dry out. They'll grow faster, but overall size will be limited.

I would stick to one seed per pot becas the roots could get tangled as they grow, you might not catch your males at the right moment and they could turn ur females queer..I have to either plant in 16 inch pots or 5 gal. buckets around my way to becas the soil is to acidic were i live near coal mines so sometimes adding ur own soil in the ground or pots helps alot more than losing a whole plant..Just so many different options and different hazards wen growing marijuana but ull get it right im learning slowly but surely so good luck

1 gal / foot is the rule, however, i planted an indica in what i thought was a 5 gal bucket but turned out to be 3.5 gal bucket and it grew as big as my 5 gal plants did
~4 feet...i'm a nooooob so i prolly could have gotten the 5 gal plants bigger if i would have grown them properly...just remember: bigger pot = bigger root ball = bigger plant = bigger yield...also remember that you can force flower to identify females, put them in 12-12 in a dark, totally dark, place for ~ 2 weeks...cut clones before you do this and then replant your female clones after you know their sexes...it's really quite simple and very effective...gl.

#5 Nursery Containers or 5 gal. buckets are great for an outdoor grow. The containers are a couple of bucks cheaper than the buckets, but don't last as long.

Wider Vs. Deeper + Root Temps?

I'm planning to grow a few Indicas outdoors this Spring for my first time and contemplating using wider, round 20 quart potting containers rather than the standard, deeper 15 gallon bucket type used in nurseries.

The idea is to allow the plants to grow low and as wide as possible.

1. How deep of container do Indica's need?

2. How sensitive are the roots to the heat generated by the sun, with regards to the standard black plastic potting containers?
