When do Police Helicopters Normally do their Rounds?

Hey GC,

I am planning on doing a fairly decent sized grow (150-200ish plants) come this season, and I am trying to plan it out as best as possible. I was just wondering when the police helicopters would do their "fly-overs" to search for plants. Do they do it later on in the summer- like late August or September when plants are normally flowering? Or just whenever they want? Because I am thinking that if they search later on in the summer, I could use an autoflowering strain and have the plants done by early-mid August at the latest and therefore avoid the plants being discovered. I am near Toronto, Ontario if that makes a difference- maybe they don't have as sophisticated equipment as the police in the US, but I am going to just assume that they do.

Thanks for any help

Around here (Maritimes) they usually show up the last week in August and spend a day or a day and 1/2. There highteck equipment consists of assholes looking out the doors. This is the way most plants are found, even in the US. Hightech stuff works for big plots. Keep your number of plants to 3 or 4 in one spot, don't drive up on an ATV. Cops arn't going to walk a mile for 3 or 4 plants when there are thousands in the county.

Thanks

Alright then, sweet. Thanks for the help guys. And thanks Moosehead for the advice on limiting the number of plants at each plot. I guess I'll have to start my planning now, to figure out good spots. Thanks

hey im in the toronto area as well so i thought id add in what ive experienced. I had a smaller grow and did most of my work at night because well during the day wouldve been very obvious; my crop was not way out in the country. Anyways the point is ive been in the field at night and helicopters flew over checking for lights in the forests. I dont tihnk they had infrared because i wouldve been caught, but anyways just keep an ear out if you work at night with lights. Its easy to hear and click a switch.

Well, pine trees give off the same infrared colors as marijuana, so the theory is that you should plant them in and around pines so that they just blend in. Ad some horticultural lime to lower the acidity from all the fallen pine needles though, or they might not grow so well.

I have done a few pine grows and best way is either big pots! or dig a hole and line it with poly sheet fill in with new good soil and your set!! pine trees are the safest place giving off similar heat readings but not the same ,so no more then 5-7 in the pines in one area !! but on the other hand I know a old fella that puts 15-20 out in his pine bush that sits 100 ft from his front door, he's done this grow for the last 20yrs and has never heard boo from anyone!!
but in open areas or wooded areas 3-5 I would'nt do any more than that !!

don't forget to piss around the area to scare the deers away!!

goodluck

I have answered this question so many times it is beginning to drive me crazy. MJ does not grow based upon temp alone. The bulk of the growth is based upon the light cycle. During the summer the days are longer as we all know. This is the time that mj has its most intense growth (thats why it is called the growth cycle). In the fall when the days are getting shorter, the plants go into the whole flowering deal. Thus, in the winter, they do not grow because of the light cycle. For the future, please use the search button and look up these kinds of questions before you ask. The forum has a huge data base of knowledge.

Maybe he wants to grow a Lowryder strain or something. He just wanted to know if the cops search for plants in December in Florida.

Since Florida is closer to the equator our days during winter are longer than those up north. Not sure about the police... but I'd figure planting during winter or during the beginning of spring wouldn't be a bad idea.
