5gal buckets in marshy area??

so for next year, since my past 2 attempts at growing near my house have been foiled, i was planning on growing in a marshy area that will provide coverage and privacy. the soil is not muddy to the point where u would loose your shoe in it when you step but u will see some water when you do. do u think if i bury a 5 gal bucket with good soil it will stay dry?? im plannin on puttin holes on the bottom for drainage. gimme some help fellas.
