?s about drying/hanging ????

Ive heard you can just hang in a cardboard box with fishing line strung threw the top and have a fan blow over the top of the box to keep from molding is there a better way to do this??? also are you supposed to keep the buds completly in the dark while they are hanging? How do you know when to take the buds down from hanging this is my first time growing and so far it looks very good it is a female there is no bud sites. If someone could help me that would be awesome thanx
