i have practically no knowledge on growing except that i studied horticulture for awhile.
im pretty sure the reason it went crazy is because being whatever size plant it was it had roots for the size it was, snapping it in half halves the plant, the top half wont grow..
the bottom half is now being fed by twice as much roots as it needs so it grows alot faster and healthier

i think thats how it works, i think all those similar things like rocks to hold them down would be to do with that?

dunno if im right, mayb someone else can verify this..

Yes, there have been studys that stress increases stalked trichrome or resin production, ideally making a more potent plant. Its that fine line you have to walk between enough stress to make this reaction happen and not enough stress to cause it to go hermi or die on you.
