The main stem split down the middle.

Last night there was some heavy wind and i went to look at my baby, and it split about 2 inches down the main stem on the 1st shoot. I used to cloth and tape to hold it to gather and put water on the cloth. Will my baby be ok? anything else i can do

You've done the right thing in tying it back up.

Your baby will (should) survive.

As long as you fixed it up you'll be fine. Some stress to your plant is good. Some people do this kind of thing on purpose , like putting a nail in the base of the plant to make the stem get beefer. i know that i've purposly broken stocks on my plants so the plant heals back better and stronger and bigger. If you try any of these methods, just remember to water your plant ahead of time before you do that.

PLEASE!!! DO NOT DUCT TAPE IT!!! That is pretty silly!! Just tie it back and the split will heal itself...the plant will just reroute the water and swell at the spot.

Yes, just make sure you monitor the growth closely, in case the stem heals and starts to get constricted due to the zip tie.
