It was just that the leaves were pretty mangled and I thought it would be better for the plant to remove the hurt leaves instead of having the plant use resourses to try to repair damage or possibly get rot / fungus where the damage was . maybe it was a mistake ?

Its not that it was a mistake "persay", its just that it really didn't matter. Understand? The reason I say that it might even produce positive results is b/c there are a few members including myself that see great results from taking ALOT of leaves off, primarily the fan leaves. THis will make the plant GO WILD! But hey, you didn't hear it from me. I'll get shot by some of the mods for agreeing with this method..."ahem" , theory, rather. Talk to Dier 'bout this one. Thats all Im at liberty to say. ANYwhoo, yeah, just for future reference, it doesn't matter if you leave the damaged leaves on or not.

yea once a plant gets 4 feet plus I notice big results from taking down fan leaves.

it provides more light penetration to newly forming branches which in the long run will create many more leaves branches and eventually colas
