Gurilla Grow - wish them luck

Well, I've just moved into a new area, and had to get a grow going... Doing it indoors won't work for now (hopefully by winter), so I took some of the beans I had and went for a little bike ride.

I planted the first two by a small creek, the creek itself has saplings along it and tall grass. I tried to find the most hidden spot, but the creek is pretty close to town, so I'm pretty much relying on luck.

The soil that I planted them in seemed pretty sticky (wet) so hopefully it's not overly wet for them.

The next spot I found was another km down the gravel road at another creek, i went probably 100 ft off of the rd and found another spot that seemed pretty sheltered and dropped 3 there. (about meter away from each other). The area itself was under a lot of trees, in what looked to be a flood plain, and it was richly covered in lilypod shaped kinda rubarb stemed plants. This ground wasn't as sticky, however it was defenetly moist and had good lair of dry plant material on top, and the soil itself seemed to be pretty much just peat.

Anyways, in another two months I'll check in on them, and maybe by that time I'll just take some clippings (if they grow well) and start the clippings indoors.

If on the outside chance we have a long summer they could bud, but then who knows if somebody will notice them.

Anyways, wish them luck they'll need it.

I love an optimist!
There's all us others nurturing and worrying about our babies while you're off on your bike popping seeds in the ground like Johnny Appleseed.
Couldn't you even have at least germinated them at home? ITS A JUNGLE OUT THERE! They are going to pop their little heads up into a very hostile world for one's so young without even a single slug pellet looking out for them.
But they might just make it.........I'm rooting for yer.

Haha, yeah, Johnny 'Chronic-seed', I thought the same thing, and even whistled the Johnny appleseed tune as I was on the dirt road.

Well, we got quick thunderstorm last night, and today it's around 30C (86F) today, so the little guys should be getting the right type of germination weather.

It's kinda good that there's no time to become a monster because the area which their in is pretty close to two farm houses, and is mainly protected from human activity by heavy mosquito gaurd, thistle plants and some burrs.... As long as nobody sees me going in there (if I get an itch to check in on them) I doubt anybody would have a reason to.

I think the second spot has a 50% better chance than the first. It has decent tree cover to shield them from the otherwise crazy weather (hail, thunderstorms, big winds). I think they'll still get the sunlight that they need... the tree cover isn't terribly thick.

Anyways if I get the itch to check in (in a week or so) I'll let you guys know if there's any sprouts.

Thunder Storms

Well it looks like the place i'm living now gets thunder showers every night these days (actually there was an F4 tornado not to far from here the other day). And today again the temperature is in the 30's C (90's F), I don't know if I could ask for better germination weather.

I don't think I will bother to check in on them, however nature is working in my favor for now.

Better make sure the Tornadoes didn't pick your seeds up then your going to have to ride all around town to try and spot your plants!

Tripplettes a girl.... And two boys

Well I went out and checked on my little guys today, and found out that I had 2 boys and one girl, in the first spot that I planed them (haven't checked the second yet).

The first boy isn't looking so hot. He's about 2 ft tall and has likely been in flower for about a week. The leaves close to his core are big piles of black balls, and the bottom leaves (just small 3 inch leaves, no fan leaves yet) are mostly yellow and dying, (although I'm not worried about bottom leaves dying... the top groth seems like it'll go)

Most of the top leaves have holes in them, however I see new growth at every internode, and also some growth at the top of new leaves, so it's defenetly trying to fight.

It's stock is extremely strong, because there's been a lot of wind, and several thunderstorms, (at least 15).

I had no idea what type of strain these plants are, however I notice that the leaves are quite jagged and defently seem indica.

The second two siblings, one boy and one girl are doing much better, with no black shit on them, and no yellowing leaves. Their stocks are also thicker, and their about 2 inches taller. And the girl is in the best shape of all of them. The boy already has big strands of red balls, and the girl well she's just starting to grow a bit of hair.

I guess I should get rid of the two boys... But I didn't feel like doing it. They've had a tough go at life already, so I'm proud of them making it so far. If I get some seeds off them, then I can plant a bunch more this winter.

I still have to check on the second spot, those ones I thought had an even better location, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing a lot better. (fingers crossed).

I'll try to get a camera next time I go out and grab some pics.

I defenetly think you should try your seeds, however I think the growing season is pretty much over.

As for my grow, I'm a little bewildered right now, because after the trip i just made, I'm not sure if I have any plants, or close to 50.

Basically I just went back to the first grow spot to remove the males that I had found the other day, and when I got there, I removed the first male, then looked a few feet over and there was another, and then another and then another and then another. After a little while I had pulled out around 30 males, and found 17 females.

I defenetly know that whatever plant they are, there were defenetly a difference between the male plants (with balls) and the female plants with white hairs coming out between the internodes. The leaves defenetly looked like pot leaves, however none of them had any fan leaves that I could find, just basically leaves coming out from around the stock.

I really don't know what to think, and I could tell that I had been the only one in the area for a while, as there were only my tracks around it. So I guess I will start checking on them and see what happens, and if the females start to flower, I could have well over a few pounds of dope.

Weed or weed?

Not sure where you're growing, but watch out for Sulphur Cinquefoil.
Its a common weed where we grow, with the characteristic leaves of MJ, but without the fan leaves, and only has leaves out of the main stock i think.
I could be wrong but i've had my hopes up before by these suckers thinking it was some good herb!

Best of luck on your grow, keep us posted and try to get a pic of the mystery plants.

Thanks for the comparison pic. It's not that one for sure.

I'll have to try and borrow a friends digital camera, so getting pics aren't that easy.

I really can't figure out what else they would be though. They seem to look exactly like young mj plants that have begun flowering very early on in life.

I'll make my way out there again today, and check on the second grow spot as well, so then hopefully I'll have a comparison plant, that should look pretty much the same if it's the same shit.

i see you planted them a bit late in june, they only start making fan leaves and side shoots after a while especially when their roots have as much space as they could wish for. sativa's keep growing during bloom though.

Alright, well that defenetly explains the way they look, pretty much all of them had shoots begining at the internodes.

So now the only thing that is left unexplained is why there were close to 50 plants there, when I only remember planting a handfull.

I've been trying to roll a theory in my head that maybe as I was walking around I was dropping seeds...

all the plants are along the area where I was walking, and actually the plants in the area where I actually remember planting were by far the biggest.

Is it possible that they were some how naturally propegated, like maybe the thunder/hail tore of pieces of the plant and they started to grow, or what gives?

Thread Closed

Alright well no point in continuing this thread, I found some larger versions of the mystery plants, and even they look a lot like pot without fan leaves. Unfortunately these ones were in full bloom and were obviously not mj.

I checked my other grow local after, and didn't find anything there, so it looks like this thread is closed.
