Grow Bag vs. Basic Gardening pot

Hello all. I'm wondering if anyone has grown in a grow bag http://cgi.ebay.com/10-Gallon-grow-b...QQcmdZViewItem and and what you thought about it, if you would use them again, anything like that. Essentially I will need to repot my babies soon and came across these bags which are considerably cheaper than buying gardening pots.

The max size I've seen in these bags is 10 gallons so I'll probably get 10 of them. Ideally I'd like to get 20 or 30 gallons. Also my space does not allow me to plant directly into Earth. I think there something like $0.75 a piece and shipping is cheap since their plastic bags.

I figure with 10 gallons of a grow medium + the plant, the chances of it being blown over is slim. The bags are supposed to have drainage holes. The exterior of the bag is white to reflect light and the interior is black to block light from harming the roots.

If anyone has experienced the bags or see problems with them let me know. Any comments really.

Thanks!

The bags are fine,as long as there are sufficient drainage holes. As with any container grow you don't want the roots to be waterlogged. Best to let them almost dry out between waterings, though be careful in hot weather as loss due to evaporartion can be considerable.

I use the bags both inside and out. I use 5 gallon size. When the plants get large they start to use a lot of ferts. 10 gallon bags are heavy and unwieldy. I use 22 gallon plastic utility pails I get at KMart for $6 when I want a large planter. I never had any drainage problems, I keep plants in metal carts with metal mesh bottoms. Good luck
