pots or ground?

simple question

ill be growing outdoors, starting my plants off in small 3 inch plastic cups, but what i was wondering.... would it be possible to just plant my 10-15 plants in 3-5 gallon containers and finish out my grow in those instead of transplanting directly into the ground?

i work at a garden center, so acquiring large pots and potting mix isnt a problem, but i figured this could save some time/ energy, and also allow a lot more mobility with the plants for maximum sun exposure

or would i be better off just planting directly into the ground at my spot? (ground consisting of lots of thick clay and earth)

thanks for any help

u should use the biggest pots u can get then make a good soil mixture your self, so then ur plants are able 2 be moved when needed, but sense u are going 2 have numerous plants u might have better luck planting them in tha ground!

Dig a nessisary hole for your plants.Loosen up the clay at the bottom aswell.
Fill the hole with your medium, and plant your sprouters in when theyre about
4-5nodes high.Keep them indoors when small to prepare them for the outdoors.
Do this by putting them all under two 80watt flourescent/compact flourescent
lights(about 2 inches from top of plant). You dont have to worry that much about
the lights being so close to the plants becasuse there not as powerfull and give
off very little heat. Then make sure you keep an oscillating fan on them to
strenthen the merristem up.
When theyre about 4-5 nodes high, transplant them outdoors INTO the ground.
I prefer planting into the ground, because it lets the roots grow freely,
and I noticed that it gives a bigger yeild, somewhat.

When theyre outside grab some bamboo sticks,wire/rope/fishing line/whatever,
and place them into the ground beside your plants. This way you have support
for when your plants get bigger. Then when they are bigger use the wire
or whatever the hold the plant to the stick, thus holing it steady.

O yea and make sure you have like a 20-20-20 soil medium.Your mainly
looking for Nitrogen and Potassium.Phosporus is used for flowering, and
is the higher amount of nutrient needed for an MJ plant to flower.
about 15-30-15.The P in NPK is phosporus.

Hope I helped some what.

Interesting that you bring this up. Greenhouse seeds has a bunch of grow videos on youtube and on all their sativas and the indica Himalayan Gold they have "sticks" coming out of the pot next to the main branches. I figured it was for support and wondered if I will need to do that since I'm growing a sativa and indica. Anyway, I guess you need to put them in your pot right away while the plant is still young so you don't stab the root structure later on? the problem is you don't know really where the plant will need the support. Himalayan Gold has like 6-8 main colas that sort of all hang down later.. but it's a guess where the support sticks need to be when they're young.

Look, you should just keep them in a five gallon bucket outside. They will get all the sunlight w/out having to but light or whatever. Keeping it outside is a natrual grow with wind, rain, heat and such shit like that. Just know that outside they will get big very quick. At least in Fl. It really isn't that hard and easy to transport if needed cause the plants will be kinda moble. Happy growing. Peace.
