Extensive update!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the support.

And I figured since you guys seem fairly interested I would do an extensive update with pics so everyone can get a good idea how I'm doing all this: So, here we go...

This will be a guerilla grow in its own right. "lemme splain" Both of my neighbors to the east and west have just put up thier own fences which was great for me b/c all I had to do was go and buy enough to cut accross the back of my yard at my property line between the two corners of theirs! Therefore, once I put up the fenceing that I have, my entire property will be enclosed within my fence. My grow will be just outside my fence in the woods near the yucca patch that gets great sun, as I have observed. Also, the property past my future fence is owned by people that live just 100 yds into my "woods" (as you will see in the pics, you get a glimpse of the house). In a nutshell, these plants will not be "owned" by myself. The way that I've prepared my soil(secret, but not really) will create a self sufficient growing condition and I will hopefully have no watering duties. And if I do need to water I'll do it at night. So, after the babies are in the ground and I've installed my fencing..."thats it". Now for the pics

A few more babies, will be sexing them in about a week.

More babies

Single shot...

OH! Just thought I'd throw this in here for all my fellow Chile heads...12 different strains of Habaneros! hehe

Grow plot

Grow Plot again

East Property line explaination

West Property Line

Future Behind Fence Plot

Sooo, that is that. At the end of this week I will sex and begin transplanting (pic will be included) Sexing should only take about a week. After thats done and the plot is good to go I'll install the fence and hopfully not have to worry about it the girls for another month or two( aside from a lil midnight FIMing, TOPing and LSTing).

Guru Out!

Guru, I'm curious, why do you call the plants your "girls" in a pic above. Are these female seeds?

I'm looking forward to your report on the smoke especially. I imagine you've tried many of the high THC strains out there like Blueberry, WW, Haze, etc. Durban's not supposed to be one of those killer plants but have a very good, happy high. I wanted to grow Durban or a Thai but didn't. Will probably grow one of the two next year.

Vaharvester,

As for the high THC strains...I can't smoke like I used to. I start thinking too much...
So now I just go for taste and like you said..."a happy buzz"
I dont like it too heady or too couchlock...just in the middle. But honestly, it doesnt matter which strain you get. A good grower can make dog shit taste and smoke great!

Me too. I avoided the Haze type sativas or anything with a "clear and energizing 'up' high" which I thought was code for too much thinking and not being able to sleep for hours after you smoke. I'm growing Western Winds(Kali Mist) and heard it's a great feeling sativa along with a skunk, white rhino, and himalayan gold- three indicas. I don't know about the skunk "high" but the leaves are very indica like. If it's indicas that cause paranoia and analysis paralysis then I will have a bunch of weed to give away and will wait til next year and try more sativas. But I'm hoping the indicas just make you stoned and comfortable without the heavy thoughts. Too many sativas are described as "Very potent and energetic uphigh". I also heard that indicas have high CBD to THC ratios and that CBD takes the paranoia out so we'll see.

in my experience Sativas are the energetic highs. real cerebral with little or no couchlock. Indica's are the ones that knock you on your ass and stupefy you physically and mentally... .good stuff those indicas are.

Thanks. Is couchlock the confusing, paranoid buzz? I just thought sativas like haze are more prone towards that. AK-47 is a sativa and Joey Weed for instance says his strain came out "not paranoid" as if other AK-47 strains are. I've been smoking for over 30 years, although not very much for the past 15, but it may just be that weed(THC) affects me this way. As soon as I have a nice sativa like WW ready and can compare it to a couple of my indicas I'll know what's what for me.

WW isn't sativa. It's slightly sativa-dom (60/40 ratio), but not enough that you'd notice. It'll give you a little of both worlds.

Indicas and Sativas can both be paranoid imho. I've freaked out on "hyper" weed and I've felt horrible on "couchlock" bud too, though neither kind do that to me anymore

It all depends on how the plant is grown, IMHO. Im sure this sounds too "hippy" for some, but If you project positive energies to your plants as you are caring for them then you will manifest the type of buzz that you want from the plant when its all said and done. Of course, every stage of the plant's life relies on you the grower so, even being too hasty at the harvest stage can create some sloppy highs. Its as if you've disrespected the plant, as a being, after all that time. ANYWAY...before I get too philisophical...

VaHarvester, Im using Fafard Pro Mix 3. NO NUTES. Sterile medium all the way. I use this to germ, veg and flower. It works GREAT! Of course, I add nutes after I sex them which will be in a week. But ya know what, come to think of it, I've never seeded outside and then tried to force sex before so when I bring them in to start sexing that should be interesting, considering the light schedule we currently have in GA. Sun up @ 7 AM almost and sun down @ 9 somthin PM. Perhaps I should throw them under CFL's at night...anywho...

you say you will be sexing the plants in about a week. This means you will be flowering them to determine sex then putting them back in veg before flower?

Either way, how do you force the plants to flower outdoors?

seeing as i have about15 hours of light here until about august (then 14) i was planning on growing indoors for about 5 or 6 leafsets, then force flowering indoors, before moving outside where they, hopefully, will continue to flower. does this sound like a good idea?
