Thats what I do usually. This time I'll have to keep them under CFL during the night and when day comes just set them back out. This way hardiness is ensured.

put something over em so they have a longer dark period

How is it exactly that plant determines its sex? Ive heard that the healthier and bigger a plant is when first going into flowering the more likely it will be to produce fems.

maybe just a rumor.....

I was thinking about sexing mine soon, to cut down on clutter. one of mine already showed his balls under regular sun light...... kinda weird, and annoying considering it was my 2nd biggest hawaii x skunk #1, of which I only have a few

I like your drawings

are you saying the day before u put them outside u give them 24 hours of light? wont that destroy the 12/12 hormone flowering cycle thing?

i like this idea any tips would be great.

ok heres the idea.

I start the seeds indoors under 18/6 lighting 6500k 140watts etc.

Once they are about 5 to 6 leafsets tall, i will switch to 12/12 2700k etc.

Once they show sex indoors i will move the females outdoors.

the question is, will they continue to flower even though outdoors there is 15-14 hours of light?

Jounin, you should start to tell in 7-14 days...preflowers...pollensacs...either way, you're gonna know soon enough. As for budding this can happen anytime the light cycles are triggering the plant to flower> 1 month, 4 months ...doesnt matter.

Mike, if you start them to flower under 12/12 then set them out in 15 hrs of sun they will start to veg. At least in my world they do. But hey, there ARE member of this fourm that have started threads within the past few days claiming that their plants are already flowering...sooooo ya never know I guess.

well hopefully by the time they are put outside it'll be closer to 14 hours

do all strains flower by themselves after a certain amount of time, regardless of lighting conditions?

or is there a way to force flowering outdoors?

thanks

The light IS what makes them flower. However, i believe there are some geneticly modified strains that flower within a certain amount of time, but this in no way nulls that fact that the light schedule must trigger flowering.

I found out from one of my buddys that atleast 5seeds were a strain called
"LUI"(Legends Ultimate Indica).Im just going to buy a disposable camera
and snap some pics.Possably tomorrow.I got my fingers crossed that the Lui
will be all female! If not Im going to cross strain it with the Hindu Kush.Or
maybe Blueberry.

Ill post some pics tomorrow IF I get the camera.

*EDIT*Im gonna start a grow diary as well

Ok, so if I trigger flowering indoors, then transplant, will they continue to flower even at about 14 hours of light?
