making wooden planters...
lemme throw this out and see what you think. i still want to plant a good # of plants, but dont want to spend 3 dollars a pot. i already have plants in ground but now i just want to add some extras you know, without digging. does this following idea sound dumb, plausible, or what? just let me know - i just thought of it so im not sure if it will even work, want some feedback
just make 14" pots with wood. simply buy some cheap lumber, cut it up and make just a spuare, planting box - just like the plastic ones in the stores. it should be easy (just cut a bunch of the same lengths so its only a few cuts to make) and nail them together in a box form with an open top, drill some drainage holes and - wala. im not sure if it would be cheaper to just buy the pots themselves, but it would seem this way would be cheaper and not to hard. they would probably also camo better than green pots (maybe) b/c its wood in the woods lol
what do you think? good idea? waste of time or what? or should i just continue to buy 3$ pots? just trying to save some money if possible, is it alright if the planter is wood? thanks guys (sorry for the long post)
