It almost time! Quick question

Hey,

Its getting close to planting time, and i have some questions vital to the setup. The area i am growing in is half an inch soil, and then its all sand. However, there is very good soil nearby (I did the compact-ness check, and it compacted and broke apart easily), so i plan on bringing some of that and putting them in the holes i dig. But my question is, how deep should i dig the hole to put the soil in? 3,4,5 feet?

And I think the diameter of the hole is going to be around 2 feet or so, is this okay?

There is a TON of deer shit near this place, is there any way i can use it? fertilizer maybe?

Finally, i have heard you can use clear bottles as humidity tents, is this a good idea or not?

Thanks alot!

Ok, as far as digging a hole, dig until you're too tired to dig anymore. Since you've found good soil, use as much of it as you can because your plants can use all the space you give them. You want them to grow deep.

You mentioned deer shit which is both good and potentially very bad. Good because you have ready access to a great natural fertilizer but bad because deer like to get high. They will eat your crop if you don't protect it.

I've never grown outdoors but I read in a guide somewhere that you can use high test fishing line and string it around trees or stakes surrounding your crop. Apparently when they walk up against something they can't see, it freaks them out. Especially if they're already paranoid from the weed.

Humidity tents are only really beneficial if you're in an area of very low humidity or you're planting clones. Otherwise you should just let the plant have 100% fresh air 100% of the time.

Awesome!!! Can anyone tell me how far from the plant the roots will expand? I'm talking not about the distance the roots grow into the ground, but how far away from the plant they will expand.
