water resources

ok i got my guerrilla plans all planned out. i am planting near a non tidal fresh body of water aproximately 2-5ft above the water level. the lower plants should tap into the water table and more or less eliminate watering. ill start them when they germ here soon i have then in a paper towel as i type. due to the trees and their root systems my plants are going to be scattered. i have 30 bagseed germing about 20 of which i suspect to crack and 18 to sprout and hopefully 9 females. i myself am quite an accomplished fisherman on this body of water as ive been fishing it for 11 years and have caught as many as 50 bluegill outta my backyard in a single 6-8hr day of fishing and with my dad prolly 100. i plan to use these as fert since fish is supposed to be the miracle fert. i am digging the holes now and am planning to do no prep as the soil is amazingly fertile. basacally decomp and many worms. i plan to get 90 redworms and drop about 5 in each hole. my worries are the animals of the water and the forest. should any of the following cause a problem if so what, squirrels, ducks, geese, raccoons, fox, turtels, snakes, gnats, fruit flies, mosquitos, horse flies, bald eagles, falcons/hawks? sorry had to throw in the bald eagle as i recently saw one in a tree from my backyard in the wild and they are absolutely beautiful. but yea what problems might those animals cause to arise and what should i do to fix them? also ive been bragging about the bamboo i had planned to plant in but when i went out to dig holes i found they were filled with a dense root system. im going back out tomorrow to dig more holes since i currently only have 6. but yea i gotta go get new clothes and shoes so ill return later to finish this

all bodies of water are tidal due to water fall and ground saturation

ok well i germinated too many seeds and some that have already cracked i have no place for. the bench i grow on is full and its in the 40's-50's outside would it be safe to plant the seeds directly in the ground and still get a sprout if theyve already cracked? or would it just kill the seeds i am hoping someone will answer soon or should i just put them in a cooler place so the crack slower i mean the ones that are now cracked just barely have a taproot sticking out though 2 or 3 have a kinda long taproot. so should i put them in the ground or put them in a cooler place? also i looked at a weather website and it sais 70's by next tuesday should i try and wait it out and hope my seed dont over germ? think i can wait til saturday? its saying mid 60's and might, a very slight but a might i dont wanna risk, get rain.

Since you are using fish to fertilize, watch for raccoons. They can smell fish very well and they love them. They'll have no problem digging them out of the ground, even up to one foot down. IF they dig up your roots to get to the fish, this would not only demolish your root system but also probably kill your plants.

Also, geese are dangerous. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't put it past them to nibble at your plants, when they are young and tender the geese wouldn't know the difference. Anything that eats plants is a danger, not so much rodents like squirrels but deer or bush pigs (*if you have them) will tear poor mary up.

I've heard (and am testing) the method of peeing in a circle around your plants on the mindset that it will simulate another animal marking its territory. This has worked for me so far, but there are few animals in my area.

One more thing, the shoreline of a lake or pond is high traffic area for animals getting water. Watch for paths that look like animals walk through alot, and make sure not to plant there if it looks like that is the case.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you

Water Will Algae killl plants?

im growing some beautiful mothers close to a pond, but this pond looks like it could produce alot of algae. I dont know if it will affect the growth process or ruin it in general. Anyone have an idea?

thanks,

well idk about the algae but it should affect your plants whatsoever algae doesnt get into the water table though im pretty sure it removes air from water or puts it in but anyways i was chillin at this girls house earlier today and she was like "i wanna grow" and we got talkin and she pulled out a bag of prolly 40-60 seeds claiming most came from a half of shake. so yea im goin out with her tuesday to put seed down since she has som i can use or ill wait til friday til theyve germed if she'll wait that long and yes i know this is a long shot and a lil late to be planting i have 2 plants going now
