I'm confused. Are you asking if you can grow any strain outdoors in florida? Floridia is one of the best place to grow i believe it has a really long growing season.

yea i was born in florida and lived half of my life there. floridas climate makes for amazing outdoor growing, pretty much the growing season is 365 days a year you sure can grow some real dank. any more questions PM me and ill be happy to answer em happy tokin

Do you have to somehow onset flowering if you grow outdoors in Florida or should it automatically flower with the onset of winter?

as long as the light cycle gets to 12 hrs of light or less it will flower

i grew some skunk in jacksonville, florida last year. i started them in early april and harvested in mid october. they start flowering pretty late but they're pretty big by then so thats just more bud! Be careful with all the summer storms though cuz a tree branch broke and fell on 2 perfectly healthy plants.
