Cloud Burst

Just planted my first seeds ever, in a pot , in my garden, 400mm x 200mm x 200mm high, plants were, or is now 25mm high, in this pot, we had a cloud burst last night, is this gonna kill the plants, too much rain, must there be holes in the bottom, none at the moment, very warm here 30c ,very tropical, wiil the heat sort it out or should I have holes in the bottom

not an outdoor grower myself but i'd suggest that you have drainage holes, as in the wild excess water would just drain away with natural irrigation.....with your pot it doesn't get a chance and may result in overwatering....if the sun dries it out too fast you'll just have to water accordingly, just don't let it dry out approx 1-2" under the top soil.....Peace out....Sid

Good drainage is very important. No plant should stand in soggy soil. Don't wait, do it now.
