Drying outside is risky, for a number of reasons. Depending on the type of region you live in, there are numerous threats outside- bugs, animals, weather, people. The end of the out door season some places means humidity and rain, which can mean rotten buds. In a warm place, insects will infest a dry, sugary plant quickly. In some places, deer and other animals could be a menace.

If you could set upa well-vented, dry, and secure shelter, and hang out there for a few days, you might be able to do it. But then you still have to store a bunch of "stanky-ass weed" somewhere...

Are ya' handy or Handsome if yer handy how bout we build a RubberMaid drying tote with a carbon filter.....no smell there and E-Z to build and just sits in the closet and does the job
Then lets pick up a cheap vac-sealer and we will have no smell during storage ......just open a bag put it in a jar and used as needed.......

first pic is a pound of marijuana, the end of the stems were individually poked through a wire, forming a nice bouquet.

then went outside, hanging for a week in a tree to dry.

take into account everything bluebong mentioned. be smart, safe, and u will be fine.

second pic is the dry, cured, product. proof that outdoor drying works.

outdoor drying is fast and not sufficient to cure, it still contains moisture on the inside of buds. open your curing jars for 10 minutes everyday, until all the moisture is sucked out

Ive read about people drying in those brown paper bags, but you need to open them up ever day or two. You could build a inclosure out of screen and keep it in there, just cover it up with leaves, brush or w/e. But I would like to read more about that rubbermaid container dryer. I have been wanting to get a roomate to help pay for bills, but havent been able to because of drying, and the smell I have in my apartment.
