Black Healthy Leaves? wtf

Leaves around my buds are starting to appear almost black, the ironic thing is that they also appear completely healthy.
Earlier some leaves starting to tint purple but now appear black.

Is this at all normal? even for any strain...

Everything else on/about the plant is healthy and normal.

Edit: I should mention that the black leaves are not part of the buds, just the surrounding leaves.

I've seen some haze plants with dark purple leaves. Are you growing haze by chance?

hey dude the same exact thing happened to one of the branches that had a partial break and it was a broken stem so i think that might have happened to you so you better check your plants branchs out. if it is still healthy then just let it grow

well my leafs were dark purple/black but only the fan leavs on the lowere branches and only the branches that had been stressed due to the branch getting pinched/bent/severed. it had nothing to do with the strain of my plant because only the broken branches had black fanleafs. so i am assuing the same thing happened to you just leave the plant alone and that branch will be done quicker because the pl.ant wants to force matuity on that branch

o for sure. cold weather causes pistils and leaves to turn purple. but in ur case "black" must be deep purple

I have the same effect on a few of my plants growing outdoors, i rubbed the plant and it didn't come off at all, does this mean it is mold or from cold weather? and is the cold weather a threat to my mary jane?

mj can handle some cold weather. some strains better than others. a few light frosts aren't gonna hurt too bad. mine have been through 1 or 2 light frosts and all it did was turn my buds a pinkish tint. below 32 is what worries me and im sure its just around the corner
