Question Fast growing plant with hollow stems?

I have been growing indoors for a number of years now, but just recently I have seen something that is new to me. This is only the fourth time I have grown outdoors, so this could be completely normal with out-door clones, but here it goes....

I pollinated an AK47 with a California Orange female and it successfully made seeds. This was done indoors as the two plants were phenomenal in every aspect, and I wanted to see how they would interact as one. When I planted the seeds they were done outdoors in a freinds back yard. This would be the first grow from these specific seeds. Of the ten that became female, one was exceptionally fast growing. It grew a foot in three days during it's veg and bushed out like crazy. It has dwarfed all the others and I have never seen a plant with such vigor. I want to finish it and see what the final bud is like. If it is excellent then I would like to introduce it to my perpetual garden indoors. It seems to be a huge producer and would increase production considerably, but the final product will tell its fate.

My concern I have with her came when I was cutting clones. I had to crawl around back of the massive plant and accidentally broke off a large growing shoot. To my amazement it was completely hollow. I know stems are hollow to an extent, but this was abnormally hollow! A good comparison would be if you look at a big slushy drinking straw, that is exactly what it looked like. The hole was just as big and the stem walls were just as thin. I have noticed hollow stems on plants that have finished budding, and even on vegging plants - but none as hollow as this! It is so hollow it is to the point that it bends and kinks very easily. Even the clones taken from anywhere on the plant have a hollow stem, even from down low!

My question is, could this be because it has grown so fast, or could it have something to do with the soil? Genetics? Anyone else witness a plant like this before. The other plants from the same batch of seeds seem fine, but they are not nearly as large or fast growing either. Last question - is it still worth keeping some cuttings?

Sorry for the long explaination. I wanted to describe it perfectly and seemed to ramble on a little too much. Damb Blue Berry! Anyways, any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Maybe it grew so fast because it grew up instead of taking energy to fill in the stems.. dunno, just a thought

CDiggs, that's kind of what I thought might be a possibility. Anyone have this happen to their plants?

Is it sheltered?
mebe exposing it to a bit of wind would help strengthen it a bit.
Might be worth adding some stakes for support before it gets too big to support it's own weight.
If it's growing healthy I wouldn't worry too much

It isn't sheltered and it looks as healthy as can be. Just the hollow stock thing suprised me. It's fairly strong even with it being so hollow. It's just that the stocks don't bend, they kink. I have grown over 20 varieties of cannabis and have never seen one with such strange characteristics. It is an fantastic grower and I hope the finished buds will be just as amazing. If so I might have a new strain for my indoor perpetual garden, as the strain I have now has been going for two years now. If another stem breaks I will make sure I take a picture and post it. I just hope I have macro on my new camera. Thanks for all the response!

<TABLE style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=500 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD><!--mstheme-->Silicon is a beneficial plant nutrient, found in virtually all solid but not, until recently in hydroponic nutrient solutions. Silicon will strengthen the plant walls producing stronger healthier plants with more massive root systems and increased resistance to pests and disease. Silicon is very basic (it has a high pH) and can therefore be used effectively to raise the pH of hydroponic nutrient solutions.
Due to its extremely basic alkaline nature Liquid Silicon cannot be included at the correct levels in a nutrient concentrate . It has to be added as a supplement to the working solution in the tank.

It is not included, at these levels, in nutrient concentrate. It needs to be added as a separate component by the grower. Liquid Silicon can be added to nutrient tanks every time a fresh batch is made up. Liquid Silicon has an important role in the uptake and vascular transport of mineral nutrients, and can greatly improve the mechanical strength of the plant and its resistance to fungal diseases.
