Budding Transition time

In most plants there is a transition time from Veg state to budding state. Does anyone know if the budding time listed in most books includes this time? And is the transition time considered budding time or is it something else......?

Thanks Bunches

No, mine showed preflowers in May, when they were about 5 weeks old, had an awful lot of vegging to do after that.

I have just never observed this supposed phenomenon, I think it is a figment of someone´s imagination. These are annual plants, they grow and die in one season, they do not have time to hang around doing nothing. As soon as they stop vegging, they flower.
