i cant work out what the hell is doing this, its a big bud plant that seems to be healthy in everway as you can see

except these little munch marks at the bottom of the stalk, they look like the being gnawed or stripped.

anyone got a clue what the hell is doing it and any suggestions on how to deal with it?

Not as bad as what happened to one of my plants yesterday... I went up and there was only the top node of the plant sticking out the top of the soil so I pull it up and it all been eaten... something keeps digging underground and pulls the whole damn plant underground with it its fuckin weird theres little tunnels everywhere. Its already happened to 2 other plants mysteriously dissappearing with no sign of being ripped out ant it almost happened to another 2 plants but for some reason they didn't pull them down the plant was just tilted over on its side and i stuck my finger in the soil and there were little tunnels... the plant was still there but i'm sure half the roots were ripped when it was digging through there. Anybody know what it might be? and maybe what the best way to get rid of it?

get some half inch hole chicken wire and put a barrier around the plant and about 8 inches above the plat so nothing can climb the chicken wire. if it continues then its more likely a bug than a rodent of some sort. you may need to go with some vegetable pesticide if so.

find out where the holes start and get some rodent dynamite and blow them fuckers away. also you could use some type of predatory urine to repel em, but i think blowing em up is more fun. next time i say get some large pots and put the pots in the ground so they cant get to the roots.

i went out this morning at stupid oclock and found a small black slug like critter eating the stalk of my plant, could it be them doing the damage???

Sounds like you caught the slug bastard red-handed..

put salt around the plot.. or I've heard of a copper wire ring around the base of the stalk which should work
