no side branches

hey everyone im new here...
i'm growing for the first time, started indoors, then xplanted outdoors. my plants are a little more than 2 months old, and about 30 inches tall. but so far, i havent gotten any side growth on either plant, theyre both just a single stem with leaves coming out. is it possible to induce or encourage plants to grow branches? and if these end up being female plants, would it be possible to get more than one bud out of a single stem? someone help!

If your growing in a pot, this may be because your pot is too small. Transplant to the ground and they will "blow up". With just a little nutes they will flourish. Good Luck!

My 9 plants were a single stem for months and months with buds all over them, then about a fortnight ago two plants suddenly put out some side branches which have grown huge. Give the plant some time and leave it alone - it'll do what it's supposed to eventually.
