Winterizing plants?

I kno its still a long time before winter... but i just thought of this. When i harvest my plants, if i dont fully uproot them to dry and jus cut off the leaves and buds and leave the main stalk there, will it survive the winter and can i pick back up where i left off in the spring? is there anything special i gotta do to make this happen? lemme kno if u guys have any experience with this. thanks

MJ is a seasonal plant it dies off during winter unless you have it inside and specially when u just leave the stalk it won't grow back at all unless u have some leaves on there still.
