Another step in the right direction, and more pressure on the legislators to end the
prohibition. Go New Hampshire!!

A House subcommittee endorsed a proposal on Thursday to make it a violation to possess less than one-quarter ounce of marijuana.
A violation is punishable by a $200 fine and no criminal record.

Current law makes possession a misdemeanor, which carries a fine and criminal record upon conviction.

Note that the original amount on the bill was 1.25oz. Even with the change I'm still happy, you're not gonna get busted smokin in your house, and who would carry more than 1/4oz with them in public anyway.
